Local Organizations...
The North Shore of Long Island is proud to have many fine organizations. Some of these organizations are: Rocky Point Civic Association, North Shore Beach Property Owners' Association, Wading River Civic Association, Shoreham Civic Association, Shoridge Hills Association, Ridge Civic Association, Mount Sinai Civic Association, Sound Beach Property Owners' Association, Rocky Point Alumni Foundation, Rocky Point Fire Department, Tides Beach Club, Pickwick Beach Club, High Cliff Beach, Rocky Point Historical Society, Revitalization and Beautification Committee, Council of Dedicated Merchants, Rocky Point Football Club, Rocky Point PTA, St. Jude Council--Knights of Columbus, Booster Club, North Shore Youth Council, Boy Scouts of America (Benjamin Tallmadge District of Suffolk), Boy Scouts of America--Pack 244 of Rocky Point, Sound Beach Soccer Club, and many others.

Local Government...
Residents of Rocky Point and its surrounding communities are a part of the Town of Brookhaven. Information is available online for recycling, zoning, and garbage collection. Brookhaven Supervisor John Jay LaValle and members of the Town Council are leading a town-wide campaign to make Brookhaven residents aware of the STAR (School Tax Relief) Program. Brookhaven is a town in Suffolk County.

Rocky Point History...
The Radio Corporation of America (RCA) is a major part of Rocky Point History. The RCA Property is located along County Road 21. The New York Daily Mirror Newspaper sponsored lot sales in Rocky Point in the 1920's. The History of Rocky Point is an interesting link to visit.

Theaters/Concerts
The Staller Center for the Arts at SUNY StonyBrook hosts concerts, film series, children's shows, art shows, and plays.

Mountain Biking...
Rocky Point is home to many miles of mountain biking trails in the beautiful Rocky Point Preserve (the old RCA property). C.L.I.M.B. (Concerned Long Island Mountain Bicyclists), Bicycle Long Island, and the Long Island Mountain Biking Magazine--Vision MTB--are great resources for those who love mountain biking!

Library Services...
The North Shore Public Library is located on Route 25A in Shoreham. Our library is part of the Suffolk County Library System.

Our Schools. . .

The Rocky Point UFSD consists of three schools: Carasiti Elementary School (grades K-3), Joseph A. Edgar School (grades 4-6), and the Rocky Point Junior-Senior High School (grades 7-12). The Shoreham-Wading River UFSD is proud to have the Briarcliff School, Miller Avenue School, Alfred Prodell Middle School, Wading River Elementary School, and the SWR High School.

Mount Sinai is a quiet residential community nestled on the north shore of Long Island, New York. It is bounded by the Village of Port Jefferson to the west, the Long Island Sound to the north. Pipe Stave Hollow Road to the east, and the Mt. Sinai School District boundary to the south (Crystal Brook Hollow Road, Hickory Street, Canal Road and southeast to CR83).

Public Transportation...
Both Hampton Jitney and the Long Island Railroad are on the web. Use the following links to bypass their home pages and go directly to the Jitney schedules or to the train schedules. If you plan to be using any of the ferries that service the East End, you can see their schedules at our ferry page.

 

Local Web Pages...
Visit the Village of Port Jefferson's web site for fun activities for the whole family.Stony Brook Village is a great site to visit. There are stores, restaurants, a working gristmill, and museums just a few miles away from Rocky Point. Sound Beach and Miller Place are vital parts of our community. If you wish to travel east from Rocky Point, Wading River and Riverhead are great places to visit. The East End Communities of Southhold, Easthampton, Shelter Island, Riverhead, and Southhampton are just a click away!
