Dear
Friends...This is a response to many e-mails I have received concerning the proposed
re-zoning of the Sokel Property to multi-family. 1) I have always and will continue
to support the community I have lived in for over 30 years - the same community
I represent to County government. 2) I am proud of how well all the various groups
are working together. This is a testament to a cha nge
that started over the last decade. We are all together and I am sure the local
Town elected officials understand that. 3) Some of you believe that I have a vote
in the matter of zoning. I do not because zoning matters are the perview of the
Town of Brookhaven, not the County. Therefore, I can only support your position
in body, mind and soul. This I am committed to do. 4) If this community does not
want a re-zoning then neither do I. 5) See you Tuesday.
Best Wishes, Martin W. Haley
